Episode Featuring World Challenge Begins July 1 TOPEKA, Kan. (June 29, 2010) – Motorsports fans
can get a behind-the-scenes look at the World Challenge Championships
beginning July 1, as an episode of Race Central TV dedicated to the Series
from this year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach airs. Award-winning
Race Central TV host and former professional driver Kurt Hansen went behind
the curtain of the World Challenge Championship GT, GTS and Touring Car
drivers during the legendary street race. During
the 30-minute program, viewers will hear from and learn about personalities
ranging from drivers Nick Esayian, Ron Fellows, Tomy Drissi, Mike Pettiford
and Tyler McQuarrie to Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach President Jim
Michaelian, along with features on Optima Batteries, Toyo Tires and
Samaritan’s Feet – the charity supported by XOWii Racing and driver Eric
Meyer, including the back stories, parties and celebrities of the weekend. The
on-track action was highlighted by wins from Kuno Wittmer in the No. 13 Dodge
Motorsports Dodge Viper in GT, McQuarrie in the No. 19
LPL/DRS/Switcars/LCS/Dayco/M&T Lotus Exige S (GTS class), and 18-year-old
Robert Stout in the No. 18 DG-Spec/Scion/TRD/Lucas Oil/Scion tC, all of whom
viewers will hear from during the show. The
program airs on the Altitude Sports and Entertainment channel on more than
250 Cable systems in 11 states and across the nation on DirecTV (channel 681)
and Dish Network (channel 410), with showings on Thursday night at 7:30 and
midnight EDT, Friday at 5:30 a.m. and Noon EDT, Saturday at 5:30 p.m., and
Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The show also airs in high definition on MavTV Channel
361 on Dish Network and is also available on a host of cable networks across
the country, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. EDT on Thursday and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. EDT
on Sunday, and on TUFF TV around the country Saturdays at 10 am and 4:30 pm
EST in 14 Major US Markets.. The
World Challenge episode will air again at the same times the week of July 5,
